Searching for a birth photographer you will be able to trust can seem daunting. You're inviting a stranger into such an intimate space with you and you want to know for sure you're making the right decision for your growing family. I want to assure you that you're in the right place and I'm here to walk you through this process and answer any questions you may have along the way. Let's start with the most frequent ones I receive!

When do you arrive at a birth?

The answer to this question will vary from case to case but it is my goal to arrive during active labor. To find out more about your history and birth plan, I will ask you questions like:

- Have you given birth before?

- How long did you labor with previous children?

- Do you plan to be induced or labor with the assistance of medication?

I would rather be there early than potentially miss something, so I ask for frequent updates from your partner or support person and we can decide together when you're ready for me to head your way!

What exactly do you photograph?

This is such a great question and for those who are not familiar with birth photography, it's understandable that you may have some questions about what to expect. Birth photography is about more than capturing the actual moment your child arrives, although that is a BIG part of it. Birth photography is about telling the entire story. I take pictures of little details around the room, photos of your family supporting you, and the way your labor unfolds over time.

How many photos will we receive?

This will ultimately depend on which package we decide is best for you, but you can expect between 80-200 images that depict every intimate moment of your journey into parenthood.

What is included in your birth story packages?

Birth Story packages include a variety of options such as digital images, a professionally curated video, and a Newborn Story session. Whichever package you choose, you can count on me arriving during active labor and remaining up to 2 hours postpartum to capture all of the details you don't want to forget.

How much do I need to be prepared to spend when hiring a trusted birth photographer?

The cost of a professional birth photographer typically ranges from $1000-$3000+ and will vary depending on what is included in select packages. It is important to remember that payment plans are almost always accepted to make budgeting for this service even easier.
